United Nations Disability Inclusion Strategy | UNICEF
BBS were responsible for the National Consultation on the UN Disability Inclusion Strategy event, in collaboration with UNICEF and United Nations - Pakistan, brought together key voices to advance disability inclusion in national policies. Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Afke Bootsman (Head of RCO & Senior Strategic Planner for UN System in Pakistan), UN Resident Coordinator Mohamed Yahya, and UNICEF Pakistan Representative Abdullah Fadil joined activists like UNICEF Youth Advocate Taqwa Ahmad and lawyer Sana Khurshid to call for equal treatment and inclusion for persons with disabilities.

The event focused on identifying barriers to education for girls and women in Pakistan and developing actionable solutions for inclusive and equitable learning opportunities.

Black Box Sounds, Pakistan’s leading development communications company, recently hosted the dissemination events for the World Bank’s Pakistan Human Capital Review in Islamabad and Karachi. The events were attended by political and development sector leadership, private sector, civil society, media, and the visiting Vice President of the World Bank Ms. Mamta Murthy.
The World Bank’s Human Capital Review provides a comprehensive analysis of the challenges facing Pakistan’s human capital development. The report makes a number of recommendations, including:
Investing more in early childhood education
Improving the quality of education
Reducing child mortality
Improving access to healthcare
Promoting gender equality
These are all important steps that Pakistan needs to take if it wants to improve its human capital index and create a more prosperous future for its citizens.

Pakistan Water Week | UNICEF
Black Box Sounds is proud to have played a role in organizing Pakistan Water Week 2023.
The event brought together experts in water management, agriculturalists, government officials, and business leaders from around the world to Islamabad. Discussions focused on practical strategies to tackle water scarcity and enhance public awareness and skill development.
Pakistan Water Week 2023 was organized by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) Pakistan in collaboration with the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), under the Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR), with support from UNICEF Pakistan.
South Asian Conference on Sanitation (SACOSAN)
SACOSAN is a government led biennial convention held on a rotational basis in each SACOSAN member country (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka).
SACOSAN VII, was held in Pakistan in 2018, continuing its glorious history of being a truly regional event. It was managed and organised by Black Box Sounds.
The 3-day conference was attended by up to 1000 delegates from the eight partner countries and proved to be instrumental in generating a political will towards better sanitation in the region over a decade.

Child Labour Survey Launch | UNICEF Pakistan
UNICEF launched the national child labor survey in Pakistan in 2019 to help develop policies to end child exploitation. The survey was conducted in all provinces and territories of Pakistan. Stage design, event execution, and management by Black Box Sounds.

Beneficiaries were invited by the Watan Card team for sharing, learning and mind mapping sessions so that future strategies could be devised.
